Story of a drug addict’s family (V)
Message from Pastor Cao at the Hope Student Center
Greetings to all brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Thank you for your prayers and donation.Special thanks to all the love offerings from Go and Love Foundation and brothers and sisters everywhere, I currently have over 800,000 Myanmar kyat. May our heavenly Father remember your loving-kindness in this time of need.
Today, I went to the hospital, explained Le’scondition to the doctors, and showed them some photos. Due to the coronavirus as well as Le’s situation, the doctors do not want to admit him to the hospital. Instead, I was offered some prescription and recommendation. So, I can only bring along with several fellow workers and brothers and sisters in Christ to care for him ourselves. His wound showed signs of improvement when we opened to look. Even though it still smells, we bought a lot of alcohol and disinfectant to clean his wound. A sister in Christ knows how to administer shots and gave him a shot, offered him some oral medication, and applied some medication on his wound according to the doctor’s instruction. This is not the most ideal way. However, if the Lord wills, maybe he can pull it through. We hope that the wound can heal quickly with the smell diminishing and more people can come to show their care.
With the love offerings I received, I have made the following important decisions:
- Have the children to live with another believer’s family so they do not need to sleep in a home filled with the smell. The children are very happy and thankful for the arrangement.
- For Le’s safety, I arrange for a local brother to keep watch of him during the night. This brother will go to the children’s place three times a day for meals and bring food back to Le.
- For the children’s health, I bought them new blankets, mattresses, pillows, and two sets of new clothing. The plan is to have them move to the new place tomorrow and change into new clothing.
- Both the family that the children are moving into and the brother who takes care of Le have agreed that the cost for food and caretaking to be 20,000 Myanmar kyat daily.
- I also asked a seminary student to help with purchasing all of Le’s needed medication and supplements. It is not an easy task for such an errand. Only a seminary student is willing to do it.
For the time being, I do not need any more monetary help on my side. If there is a need after the funds run out, I will inform you. Since Le is not staying at a hospital, this money will last for some time. I will continue to get him the medication and treat him the ways recommended by the doctors. After all the treatment is complete, I will let the donors know the total amount of donations received and expenses used.
